Situated in the heart of a growing downtown San Diego, Hope Engineering is a professional structural consulting engineering firm specializing in new building design.
Established in 1993 by Chuck Hope, Jr., the firm has quickly become the first choice with area architects for projects ranging from Research and Development to Corporate Headquarters. Principals Chuck Hope and Jim Amundson lead a team of talented Structural Engineers licensed throughout the Western States.
Using the latest technology available, Hope Engineering’s office continues to raise the bar for quality engineering as the basis of excellence in design. With a specific team assigned to each new project, their mission is to be proactive and comprehensive from planning to completion, while meeting targeted budgets and schedules.
The Hope family name is well known in San Diego, with more than 70 years of engineering and architectural excellence. Chuck Hope's grandfather, Frank L. Hope, was a prominent architect designing projects into the late 1970’s. His father and uncle, Charles Hope, Sr. and Frank L. Hope, Jr., continued that standard of excellence with such high-profile projects as the San Diego Stadium (today's Qualcomm Stadium) and the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina (formerly the Intercontinental Hotel). Today, Hope Engineering builds on the Hope family’s reputation for outstanding quality and client service.
